Dreamcatcher Windhounds
We have four special silken boys and are located in Colorado Springs, CO. We were introduced to sight hounds by Tom and KC at the ZoiBoyz Ranch. They had us handling their Borzoi at performance events from the first performance event we went to. We loved being around sight hounds and the people and events associated with them. Unfortunately our house is not large enough for Borzoi. Melessa from Attaway Borzoi & Silken Windhounds, introduced us to her Silken Candy. We decided that this was the breed for us, and the search was on. We searched the web and found a puppy named Firebird’s Lone Ranger (Scout). We fell in love with him on the first meeting, and convinced Bobbie that we would take good care of him. After seeing him running in the pasture, and how he blended in with the colors, he was renamed Apache. After the passing of our older dog Whiskey, Apache need someone to play with. We asked Melessa if we could see if Kristull Chase the Wind (Chase) and Apache would get along. Chase has been a member of our household from then on. After talking with Cathi Wester of Clayborn Silken Windhounds, and a year of planning, we decided to breed Apache and Clayborn’s Prairie Warbler (Noella). We expect performance puppies from this litter.  Both parents are accomplished performance dogs in addition to Champion conformation dogs. We had the first choice of the male puppies. There was only one male Clayborn’s Apache Firedance (Chochise), and he makes our third boy. Chris saw a picture of Rogan at 5 days old, and fell in love with him. A quick message to Cathi Wester and she was on the top of the list to get him. He has been a handful as Chris babies him, so he feels he owns the house. Rogan is showing good interest in the lure, and has done well in the show ring. We are expecting great things from this boy.
